Algiers, Algeria | June 29th, 2025 — The 56th Algiers International Fair (FIA) drew to a close on Saturday, June 28, 2025, following six days of intensive commercial activity at the Palais des Expositions, Pins Maritimes. Once again, the event confirmed its stature as Algeria’s leading platform for trade, investment, and international cooperation, providing an indispensable space for dialogue, networking, and cross-sectoral partnerships.

Organized under the theme “For a Shared and Sustainable Cooperation,” the 2025 edition gathered hundreds of exhibitors from around the world, showcasing the dynamism of Algerian enterprises and the rising attractiveness of the national market to foreign investors. Among the highlights, the participation of the Sultanate of Oman as guest of honour drew significant attention for the depth, quality, and diversity of its business delegation.

Algerian Operators Embrace the FIA as a Strategic Opportunity

For Algerian businesses, the FIA offered a crucial interface with consumers and commercial partners alike. Djamel Allilat, Communications Manager at Soummam Dairy (SARL Laiterie Soummam), emphasized the importance of the fair as a feedback mechanism and strategic checkpoint. “The FIA is an essential moment. It allows us to engage directly with consumers, understand their expectations, and refine our offerings accordingly,” he explained.

This year’s event also served as a barometer for gauging market demands and innovation receptivity, particularly in competitive sectors such as home appliances. Electronics and household technology companies, both local and international, seized the opportunity to introduce new products, assess user responses, and reinforce their commercial networks.

Islam Merzoug, Commercial Director of SARL Rylan, a domestic manufacturer of household appliances, highlighted the fair’s dual function: “It’s not just about visibility. It’s about direct contact with the end user. We gather valuable insights into consumer preferences, especially regarding quality, energy efficiency, and price sensitivity—factors that guide our innovation while controlling production costs.”

Oman’s Participation Sends a Strong Diplomatic and Economic Signal

The Sultanate of Oman’s presence at the FIA was described by many as a resounding success, reflecting the growing economic ties between Algiers and Muscat. Representing diverse industries such as textiles, perfumery, handicrafts, logistics, and agri-food, more than 50 Omani companies showcased their offerings.

Hamad Al Farsi, representative of Al Thawq Al Rafe’a, a company specializing in perfumes and wellness products, reported a highly receptive Algerian audience. “Visitors were drawn to the quality and sophistication of our fragrances. We expect to finalize agreements soon to enter the Algerian market,” he stated confidently. This sentiment was echoed by local traders, such as spice merchant Rachid, who confirmed a deal with a Pakistani exhibitor for rare spice imports, underscoring the FIA’s role in fostering tangible, cross-border trade agreements.

Turkish Presence Bolsters Industrial Partnerships

Turkey also made a strong showing, with over 50 companies participating—particularly in the fields of industrial machinery, agri-food equipment, and construction materials. According to Kemal Yılmaz, representative of Anatolia Machinery Co, Algerian interest was more than evident. “We were warmly welcomed. The Algerian market is looking for durable and reliable technology. We’ve opened several promising avenues for cooperation,” he affirmed.

A Platform for Regional Economic Reshaping

The 2025 edition of the FIA has once again proven its central role in reshaping the economic architecture of the region. By enabling national brands to access real-time consumer feedback, facilitating direct business-to-business engagements, and expanding international cooperation, the FIA continues to serve as a strategic lever for Algeria’s economic diplomacy.
