Amar Bendjama appointed Algeria’s permanent representative to UN

ALGIERS- Algerian diplomat Amar Bendjama has been appointed Algeria’s ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations in New York, according to the latest issue of the Official Journal.

“By presidential decree of 20 Ramadhan 1444 corresponding to April 11, 2023, Mr. Amar Bendjama is appointed Ambassador of Algeria and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Organization in New York,” read the Official Journal n. 25.

Former Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Bendjama was also Algerian Ambassador to Paris, Addis Ababa, London, Tokyo and Brussels.

He replaces Mohamed Ennadir Larbaoui, appointed Director of the Cabinet of the Presidency of the Republic during the last cabinet reshuffle in March 2023.
