ANP: Arrest of 39 Elements Supporting Terrorists in October

ALGIERS- The Ministry of National Defense (MDN) has announced that the ANP forces successfully apprehended 39 individuals involved in supporting terrorists during the month of October. This significant achievement is highlighted in the operational report released this Wednesday.

In addition to these arrests, the ANP conducted a series of anti-terrorist operations, resulting in the recovery of 101 firearms and 4 122 mm rocket launchers. These efforts demonstrate the ANP’s unwavering commitment to combating terrorism and ensuring the safety and security of our nation.

Furthermore, the ANP’s relentless fight against drug trafficking has yielded remarkable results. A total of 237 drug traffickers were apprehended, and a substantial amount of illicit substances was seized. This includes 3,873 kilograms of treated Hashsish, 17 kilograms of cocaine, and a staggering 2,405,296 psychotropic tablets. These actions underscore the ANP’s dedication to eradicating the drug trade and safeguarding our communities from its harmful effects.

The ANP has also made significant strides in curbing illegal gold mining and smuggling activities. A total of 900 gold miners and smugglers were arrested, and a substantial amount of equipment and resources used in these illicit operations were confiscated. This includes the seizure of 6 metal detectors, 415 jackhammers, 682 generators, and 60 quintals of a mixture of stones and raw gold. Additionally, 130,173 liters of fuel and 112 vehicles of various types were also seized. These efforts demonstrate the ANP’s commitment to preserving our natural resources and preventing the exploitation of our land for illegal gains.

Lastly, the operational assessment of the ANP highlights the successful apprehension of 1,530 illegal immigrants from various nationalities. This reflects the ANP’s dedication to maintaining the integrity of our borders and ensuring that immigration laws are upheld.
