ALGIERS- In the aftermath of Djahid Zefizef’s resignation as President of the Algerian Football Federation (FAF), former Algerian national team captain, Anthar Yahia, has made a resolute statement to thwart any attempts to exploit his name for personal gain. Speaking exclusively to sources close to Dzair Tube, Yahia emphasized that his visit to Algeria was solely to reunite with his family, dispelling any rumors of his interest in taking the helm at the FAF.

The departure of Djahid Zefizef from the FAF presidency had been widely anticipated following his unsuccessful bid for a seat on the executive committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF). Zefizef’s ambition to secure a position on the prestigious CAF Comex came to naught, leading to his decision to step down from his role as FAF president.

In his official statement released through the FAF’s website, Zefizef expressed his gratitude to the nation’s authorities and those who had supported him during his tenure. He acknowledged the significance of the Comex role in his objectives and wished Algerian football success in the future, invoking the spirit of the nation’s martyrs.

As the FAF ushers in a new era without Zefizef’s leadership, the federation faces a critical juncture. With the upcoming general assembly, stakeholders have the opportunity to chart a fresh course for Algerian football and select a capable leadership to guide the sport towards greater accomplishments.

In this phase of transformation, the future of Algerian football lies in the hands of those who are passionate about its growth, dedicated to its values, and committed to its success. Together, with renewed determination, the nation can forge a path towards sporting glory, as the world watches Algeria rise to prominence on the footballing stage.

Long live Algerian football, and may the sport continue to unite the nation, honoring the memory of its martyrs and inspiring generations to come.
