ALGIERS- In the aftermath of Djahid Zefizef’s resignation as President of the Algerian Football Federation (FAF), former Algerian national team captain, Anthar Yahia, has made a resolute statement to thwart any attempts to exploit his name for personal gain. Speaking exclusively to sources close to Dzair Tube, Yahia emphasized that his visit to Algeria was solely to reunite with his family, dispelling any rumors of his interest in taking the helm at the FAF.
The departure of Djahid Zefizef from the FAF presidency had been widely anticipated following his unsuccessful bid for a seat on the executive committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF). Zefizef’s ambition to secure a position on the prestigious CAF Comex came to naught, leading to his decision to step down from his role as FAF president.
