APN Speaker Meets AIARA Executive Member to Strengthen Algeria–Latin America Ties
Algiers – December 2025 – In a meeting underscoring Algeria’s commitment to fostering international solidarity, Mr. Ibrahim Boughali, Speaker of the People’s National Assembly (APN), received Mr. Esteban Silva Cuadra, Executive Bureau member of the International Association of Friends of the Algerian Revolution (AIARA) and President of Latin American and Caribbean solidarity associations supporting the Sahrawi people. The reception took place at the APN headquarters in the presence of APN Vice President Mr. Mohamed Ouakli.
The discussions focused on enhancing the promotion of Algeria’s historical and cultural heritage throughout Latin America, emphasizing that shared values of liberation and solidarity provide fertile ground for strengthening political and economic cooperation. Both parties reiterated their commitment to leveraging these historical ties to forge durable bridges between Algeria and Latin American nations.
Key regional and international issues were also addressed, notably the Palestinian and Sahrawi causes. The participants concurred on the importance of mobilizing greater support for these just causes, in alignment with Algeria’s enduring dedication to the principles of self-determination and the rights of peoples to freedom.
Concluding the meeting, the APN Speaker and AIARA representative expressed a shared determination to continue coordination and deepen joint action, further cementing bonds of friendship and cooperation between Algeria and countries across Latin America.
