Back-to-School Solidarity: CREA Concludes Nationwide Humanitarian Operations

Algiers – September 2025 – The Algerian Economic Renewal Council (CREA) officially concluded on Tuesday its nationwide solidarity operations, launched on the occasion of the new academic year, with the aim of easing the burden on underprivileged families and ensuring equitable access to education.
The final phase of the initiative took place at Algiers’ Houari Boumediene International Airport, where CREA oversaw the dispatch of a substantial shipment of school supplies to the wilaya of Adrar, in coordination with Air Algérie. This marked the culmination of months of logistical preparation and collaborative efforts with public authorities, local administrations, and economic operators.
Speaking to the press, CREA President Kamel Moula underscored that “the operation has successfully provided a significant volume of essential school supplies, enabling thousands of students to begin the school year under dignified and reassuring conditions.” He noted that Air Algérie played a decisive role in transporting these materials to the country’s southern regions, while local authorities ensured efficient distribution.
This initiative, Moula emphasized, falls within the framework of the orientations of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, reflecting the state’s commitment to social solidarity and the alleviation of financial pressures on families. According to Moula, the back-to-school season was generally received with “a sense of relief” among Algerian households, due not only to these solidarity measures but also to the availability of affordable school supplies across the national market. He commended economic operators for their “active and meaningful contribution in supporting families during a critical moment.”
The solidarity campaign, which mobilized stakeholders for over eight months, has been complemented by a series of regional fairs and exhibitions organized in various wilayas. These events offered families preferential access to a wide range of educational materials at competitive prices, further consolidating efforts to guarantee equal opportunities for students nationwide.
As preparations for the 2025–2026 school year advance, CREA has reaffirmed its readiness to pursue similar initiatives, in close coordination with public authorities and economic partners, to sustain the principles of solidarity, social justice, and educational equity across Algeria.
