Baddari Inaugurates One-Stop Hub, Specialized Pharmaceutical Analysis Unit at USTHB, Strengthening University-Industry Synergy

𝓐𝓵𝓰𝓲𝓮𝓻𝓼 – 𝓙𝓪𝓷𝓾𝓪𝓻𝔂 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 – In a move to bolster the integration of academic research with national economic development, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Kamel Baddari conducted a high-profile visit on Monday to the University of Science and Technology Houari Boumediene (USTHB) in Bab Ezzouar, Algiers.

During the visit, Minister Baddari officially inaugurated the university’s One-Stop Hub alongside a specialized subsidiary dedicated to the physico-chemical analysis of pharmaceutical products. The One-Stop Hub is designed to serve as a pivotal platform for student entrepreneurs, providing them with structured support to transform innovative ideas into tangible projects and, ultimately, viable start-ups capable of contributing to Algeria’s economic growth. The hub incorporates representatives from multiple ministerial sectors as well as the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI), reflecting a comprehensive, intersectoral approach to fostering innovation.

Minister Baddari emphasized that this initiative represents a significant milestone in “strengthening the partnership between academic institutions and their socio-economic environment,” in line with President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s vision of positioning universities as central catalysts for national development. By leveraging scientific research and translating intellectual output into marketable products, the initiative seeks to operationalize the university’s role as an engine for innovation and economic transformation.

Additionally, the minister inaugurated a specialized subsidiary focused on conducting detailed physico-chemical analyses of pharmaceutical products. In his address, he called on students to prioritize the practical valorization of their research findings, particularly in critical fields such as pharmaceuticals, ensuring that theoretical knowledge is converted into concrete solutions and products. During the visit, Minister Baddari also toured the “Chromatography” laboratory—the technical platform for advanced analyses—as well as the exhibition of innovative student projects hosted within the start-up incubator building.
