Bengrina Rallies Behind Acting Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb: El Binaa Movement Pledges Full Support for Algeria’s National Project

Algiers, Algeria | Abdelkader Bengrina, President of the El Binaa al Watani Movement, affirmed his party’s unwavering support for the government led by Acting Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb, underscoring a shared commitment to safeguard Algeria’s stability and propel it into the ranks of emerging nations.
Speaking at a press conference held at the party’s headquarters on Sunday, Bengrina emphasized that the movement would serve as a strategic pillar for the government in implementing what he described as “a bold and victorious national program — an Algeria that is secure, resilient, and ascendant.”
A Strategic Alliance with the State
Bengrina pledged that El Binaa would stand shoulder to shoulder with the government in defending the pillars of national security, offering renewed hope to unemployed youth, encouraging persecuted entrepreneurs to return, and spearheading what he metaphorically described as a “governmental commando mission” to transition Algeria into the club of emerging economies.
“We are categorically opposed to any government that shirks its national duties and fails to meet the expectations of its people and its nation,” he declared, setting a clear red line for accountability.
In an expression of confidence and goodwill, Bengrina also congratulated Minister of Industry Sifi Ghrieb on his elevation to the role of Acting Prime Minister, wishing him “every success in fulfilling this weighty responsibility.”
Exposing Economic Sabotage
Turning to pressing economic concerns, Bengrina denounced what he termed “malicious maneuvers” aimed at fabricating shortages and unfairly placing the blame on the Algerian state. He accused shadowy import lobbies of deliberately manipulating vital goods to serve narrow, self-serving interests at the expense of citizens’ purchasing power.
In this context, Bengrina lauded President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s recent decisions in the tire-import file, which he argued had laid bare the mechanics of such schemes. “How can we explain the sudden reappearance of large quantities of tires that had been deliberately stockpiled, immediately after the government authorized imports?” he asked pointedly, framing the phenomenon as a blatant case of speculative hoarding.
For Bengrina, the moment requires nothing less than political vigilance and economic sovereignty. His remarks signal a dual message: unflinching loyalty to the state’s current leadership under Sifi Ghrieb, and zero tolerance for actors — domestic or external — who gamble with Algeria’s stability and the livelihood of its citizens.
By anchoring his movement’s stance within the wider national project, Bengrina positioned El Binaa as a guardian of Algeria’s security architecture and a partner in its developmental trajectory.
