Boughali’s Unwavering Support for Palestine: Justice for the Unjust and Oppressed

Baghdad – Today, Wednesday, in the heart of Baghdad, the Speaker of the People’s National Assembly, Ibrahim Boughali, resolutely reaffirmed Algeria’ steadfast commitment to the Palestinian cause, emphasizing unwavering support for Palestine.
Speaking at the thirty-fifth emergency conference of the Arab Parliamentary Union, Boughali called upon all Palestinian factions to heed the outcomes of the “Reunification Conference for Palestinian Unity” held in Algeria in October of the previous year. He emphasized that this unity is the key to bolstering the Palestinian cause against the occupation and warned against the relentless and brutal Zionist aggression targeting every facet of Palestinian identity—nation, entity, history, and its resilient people.
Boughali’s condemnation of the criminal attacks suffered by the Palestinian population was unequivocal. He urged international organizations and bodies to intervene immediately to protect Palestinian civilians from such aggression. In doing so, he underscored Algeria’s unwavering solidarity with Palestine, echoing the sentiments expressed by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who has consistently stated that Algeria will stand by Palestine, no matter the circumstances, be it unjust or oppressed.
The Speaker of the Assembly also demanded that the UN Security Council and the international community fulfill their legal and moral obligations toward the Palestinian people. He urged a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue within the framework of relevant Security Council resolutions, notably Resolution No. 242, and encouraged support for the two-state solution and the Arab Peace Initiative.
In this context, Boughali squarely placed responsibility on the Zionist occupation for the escalation of the conflict and the persistence of a policy that disregards the rights of the Palestinian people. He criticized the use of double standards and turning a blind eye to the occupation’s crimes, which amount to war crimes.
The Speaker noted that the Arab nations eagerly anticipate a united stance from their parliamentary representatives that reflects their legitimate aspirations. He called for a departure from positions that fail to acknowledge the just struggle of the Palestinian people and equate them with the occupying force usurping their land.
Boughali’s address underscores Algeria’s unwavering commitment to supporting Palestine and its quest for justice, irrespective of the challenges it faces. His call for unity, international action, and a just resolution to the Palestinian issue is a testament to the enduring bond between Algeria and the Palestinian people.
