Breaking the Siege, Raising the Voice: Algerian Humanitarian Convoy Heads to Rafah in Solidarity with Gaza

Algiers, Algeria | June 8th, 2025 —  In a powerful act of solidarity and resistance, a humanitarian land convoy departed from Algeria en route to the Rafah crossing on the Egyptian-Palestinian border, aiming to break the suffocating siege imposed on Gaza and to call for an immediate end to the ongoing Zionist aggression against the Palestinian people.

The convoy comprises more than 200 individuals, including Algerian diplomats, members of parliament, civil society activists, journalists, and volunteers, all united under the banner of justice and human dignity. Carrying symbolic humanitarian aid, the mission represents more than just material support—it is a loud and clear political message from the Algerian people to the world: Gaza is not alone.

Organized in coordination with several humanitarian and political organizations, the convoy seeks to shed international light on the unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in Gaza. It also aims to expose the deafening silence of many global powers as the Zionist entity continues its brutal campaign of collective punishment against an unarmed civilian population.

“We are not just bringing aid—we are bringing a message of conscience, solidarity, and defiance,” said one parliamentarian on board. “The world must see that Algeria stands firmly with the oppressed, and we demand an end to the blockade and to the Zionist war machine.”

Despite restrictions on movement and access to the Gaza Strip, the Algerian convoy insists on reaching the gates of Rafah, calling on Egyptian authorities to facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid and allow unimpeded support to reach those suffering under siege and bombardment.

This initiative adds to a long tradition of unwavering Algerian support for the Palestinian cause—rooted in the country’s own legacy of anti-colonial struggle. From the early days of the liberation war to today’s geopolitical battleground, Algeria continues to serve as a beacon of principled resistance against oppression.

As Gaza endures relentless airstrikes, mass displacement, and the collapse of medical infrastructure, the Algerian convoy emerges as a moral counterforce, challenging the normalization of massacre and the weaponization of silence.
