Algiers – November 2025 – Air Algérie officially received its first Airbus A330neo on Thursday evening during a grand ceremony held at Houari Boumédiène International Airport in Algiers. The event was presided over by the Minister of the Interior, Local Authorities, and Transport, Mr. Saïd Sayoud, in the presence of senior officials from the transport sector and the national airline’s management team.
According to national television coverage, the newly delivered aircraft features a total seating capacity of 308 passengers — 18 in Business Class, 24 in Premium Economy, and 266 in Economy Class. This carefully designed configuration reflects Air Algérie’s commitment to blending comfort, modernity, and operational efficiency across all travel segments.
A symbol of renewal and innovation, the Airbus A330neo introduces a new standard in environmental and economic performance. The aircraft offers an impressive 25% reduction in fuel consumption, coupled with a significant decrease in carbon dioxide emissions per seat compared to previous generations. Passengers will also benefit from cutting-edge amenities, including advanced in-flight entertainment systems and onboard Wi-Fi connectivity — marking a decisive step toward an enhanced and connected travel experience.
According to the same source, the A330neo’s inaugural commercial flight is scheduled for this coming Saturday, with its first destination set for Montréal, Canada. This transatlantic route will inaugurate a new chapter in Air Algérie’s international operations, strengthening its long-standing ties with the Algerian diaspora and enhancing connectivity between North Africa and North America.
Over the past few years, Air Algérie has undertaken an ambitious fleet renewal program aimed at expanding its operational scope and elevating service standards.
