Algiers – December 2025 – The Chinese energy services group Anton has expressed a strong interest in expanding its presence in Algeria through long-term investment projects and strategic partnerships, during a high-level meeting held on Monday between the Minister of State, Minister of Energy, Mines and Renewable Energies, Mohamed Arkab, and Anton’s Chief Executive Officer, Peter Pi, accompanied by a senior delegation from the group.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry, the meeting took place at the Ministry’s headquarters in Algiers, in the presence of Sonatrach CEO Noureddine Daoudi, the Director of the National Agency for the Valorization of Hydrocarbon Resources (ALNAFT), Samir Bekhti, as well as several senior officials from the energy sector. The discussions focused on prospects for investment, cooperation and partnership across the hydrocarbons value chain.
Exchanges centered on opportunities in exploration and production activities, hydrocarbon transportation, and the development of oil and gas fields through the deployment of advanced technologies. Particular emphasis was placed on energy infrastructure projects and their maintenance, with the shared objective of improving field profitability while enhancing technical efficiency and overall economic performance.
During the meeting, representatives of the Anton Group delivered a detailed presentation outlining the company’s international experience and technical expertise in the oil and gas industry. In response, Minister Arkab presented the main pillars of Algeria’s hydrocarbons sector development program, highlighting the strategic vision guiding national energy policy in the coming years.
The Minister underscored the range of investment opportunities and incentives provided under the hydrocarbons law, stressing the attractiveness and stability of the current legal framework. He noted that this framework actively encourages partnerships based on technology transfer, value creation and sustainable development, in line with Algeria’s long-term economic objectives.
Minister Arkab also welcomed the intensification of technical and institutional consultations between Sonatrach and ALNAFT on the one hand, and the Anton Group on the other, aimed at identifying concrete areas of cooperation and examining mutually beneficial investment opportunities.
For his part, Anton CEO Peter Pi reaffirmed the group’s commitment to strengthening its footprint in Algeria through practical and sustainable projects, relying on internationally recognized cutting-edge technologies. He emphasized Anton’s readiness to contribute to the development of Algeria’s national hydrocarbons sector within the framework of long-term partnerships founded on the exchange of expertise and the alignment of shared interests.
