CNAS Signs Partnership with Major Belgian Hospital for Patient Transfers and Training

Algiers, Algeria | May 18, 2024 — Minister of Labour, Mr. Fayçal Bentaleb, presided over the official signing ceremony of a partnership between the National Social Insurance Fund (CNAS) and the University Hospital Center (CHU) Brugmann in Brussels, Belgium. During his remarks, Minister Bentaleb emphasized the transformative potential of this agreement, set to improve the process of transferring and treating Algerian patients at CHU Brugmann. “This agreement will enable better care for Algerian patients at this esteemed hospital, significantly reducing the wait times for receiving treatment abroad,” he stated.

Minister Bentaleb highlighted, “The two parties have begun developing a detailed training program, which includes site visits by the Belgian delegation to specialized Algerian medical facilities.” These visits will focus on the Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Polyclinic in Bousmail and the Public Hospital Establishment (EPH) specializing in cardiology and cardiovascular surgery in Algiers.
