ALGIERS- On the momentous occasion of the 69th anniversary of the outbreak of the Revolution of November 1, 1954, a ceremony was held at midnight on Thursday at Maqam Echahid (martyrs sanctuary) in Algiers, where the national colors were proudly raised.
Distinguished guests, including Minister of Mujahideen Mr. Laïd Rebiga, members of the Government, national figures, mujahideen, leaders of revolutionary organizations, national institutions, and representatives from the associative movement, were in attendance.
In his address, the minister expressed his gratitude for the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, for his unwavering commitment to honoring the memory of the brave chouhada. The minister acknowledged the stability, serenity, and the factors of development and prosperity that our country is currently experiencing under President Tebboune’s leadership.
Demonstrating Solidarity with the Palestinian People
Furthermore, the minister reaffirmed the Algerian people’s unwavering solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Palestine, who are enduring the brutal bombings in the Gaza Strip, perpetrated by an enemy that has disregarded all human values. He emphasized that Algeria’s stance on the Palestinian cause, as repeatedly expressed by the President of the Republic, is a testament to our unwavering loyalty to our national history and the values enshrined in the Declaration of November 1, 1954.
Honoring the Mujahideen
In recognition of the sacrifices made by the mujahideen for the independence of Algeria, they were also duly honored during the ceremony.
