Algiers – September 2025 – Minister of Communication Zoheir Bouamama carried out, on Monday, his first official working and inspection visit to several institutions under his department since assuming office within the new government. The visit, marked by a meticulous review of operations and services, underscored the government’s renewed emphasis on modernization and professionalism in Algeria’s communication sector.
The International Press Center (CIP) was the starting point of the ministerial tour, where Bouamama inspected various services, including the Center for Training in Audiovisual Professions (CFMA) and the audiovisual production and information unit. He took particular interest in the working conditions of staff, reaffirming the government’s determination to create a media environment rooted in both professionalism and innovation.
Bouamama then proceeded to the National Center for Documentation, Press, Image, and Information (CNDPI), where he paused at critical departments such as the archives, press review hall, library, and reading room. Within the center’s digital services, the Minister placed strong emphasis on the strategic role of digitalization, stressing that “President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has made the generalization of digital transformation across all sectors a national priority.” He also urged media professionals to exercise vigilance and responsibility in covering issues concerning Algeria, highlighting the vital role of accuracy and integrity in shaping national and international perceptions.
Concluding his visit, Bouamama inspected Algerian Paper Company (ALPAP), an establishment tasked with maintaining strategic paper reserves for the benefit of national printing companies. This stop further reflected the government’s commitment to ensuring the sustainability of Algeria’s media infrastructure, from digital modernization to securing the raw materials essential for the press industry.
Bouamama’s message was clear: the future of Algeria’s communication sector lies in embracing digital transformation, safeguarding professional standards, and reinforcing national sovereignty through responsible media practice.
