Council of Ministers: President Tebboune Calls for Statutes Commensurate with Missions in Education, Health, and Higher Education

ALGIERS- President Abdelmadjid Tebboune chaired a cabinet meeting on Sunday, addressing several significant issues, with a focus on the revision of statutes for various sectors. The meeting specifically discussed the statutes and compensation systems for personnel in the National Education sector, hospital-university researchers, teacher-researchers, permanent researchers, medical and paramedical staff, and imams.

According to the official statement from the cabinet meeting, President Tebboune has instructed a thorough review, enrichment, and clarification of the content of these particular statutes. The goal is to finalize these revisions starting from early February next year, taking into account the retroactive effect on salaries and bonuses from January 2024.

The President emphasized the need for these professional categories to have improved and more detailed statutes, expressing his commitment to these professions. The statement highlights the President’s gratitude for the efforts made by these professionals during challenging times in the country, acknowledging their unwavering determination.

The statement further emphasizes that these categories of professionals, including those in education, health, higher education, and imams, play vital roles in guiding society. President Tebboune stressed that these professions are not just jobs but noble callings, and the laws governing them should include real added value, especially in the social context.
