Death of Moudjahid, retired Major General, Dib Mekhlouf: Condolences from President of Republic, Chief of Staff of ANP

Algiers, August 7, 2023 – The nation of Algeria is in mourning as it bids farewell to one of its esteemed veterans, retired Major General Dib Mekhlouf, who passed away on Sunday.

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who is also the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and the Minister of National Defense, sent a touching message of sympathy to the family of the deceased Moudjahid. Major General Dib Mekhlouf, revered for his courageous contributions to the country’ struggle for independence, was also known for his distinguished leadership as the former Commander of the Republican Guard.

Army General Saïd Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, expressed his profound grief over the loss of a comrade-in-arms and a respected leader. In a heartfelt statement, he extended his sincere condolences to the family of the deceased and offered prayers to Allah the Almighty to grant Major General Mekhlouf eternal peace and a place among the martyrs and valiant saints in His Vast Paradise.

The ANP Chief of Staff’s condolences were not only a reflection of his personal sorrow but also resonated with the entire personnel of the People’s National Army. Major General Mekhlouf’s legacy as a courageous warrior and a dedicated military strategist will continue to inspire generations of soldiers and leaders in Algeria.
