DGSN Unveils Strategic Security Infrastructure in Ouargla to Bolster National Safety Framework

Algiers, Algeria– Thursday, July 17, 2025 | In a stride towards enhancing Algeria’s domestic security architecture, the Director General of National Security (DGSN), Ali Badaoui, inaugurated two cutting-edge security installations on Thursday in the southern wilaya of Ouargla. This high-level initiative reflects Algeria’s continuous investment in technological advancement and institutional modernization to ensure the protection of persons and property, both public and private.

The first installation, the Wilaya Video Surveillance Centre, stands as a modern nerve center for real-time monitoring and rapid response coordination. Spread over a total surface area of 3,150 square meters, including 1,484 square meters of built-up space across three floors, the facility is equipped with advanced rooms for managing external surveillance feeds, incident response coordination, traffic flow oversight, and emergency call processing via green lines and the “Allo Police” service numbers.

Notably, the center also includes a dedicated video playback exploitation room and a specialized training room, underscoring the institution’s focus on capacity building and technological resilience.

The second facility inaugurated by Badaoui is the Regional Service for the Fight Against Organized Crime. Strategically located in the heart of Ouargla city, the structure—an old building—has undergone a complete overhaul and has been purposefully repurposed. This two-story facility now spans 8,032 square meters, including 1,525 square meters of constructed area. It houses 17 offices and a fully equipped conference room, tailored to support intelligence, investigation, and operational coordination efforts in countering complex criminal networks.

During his visit, the Director General expressed profound satisfaction with the pace and scope of development within the national police services, emphasizing that these state-of-the-art facilities represent a tangible step toward reinforcing Algeria’s internal security capabilities. “These modern infrastructures are not mere buildings; they are operational platforms that will greatly enhance our efficiency in safeguarding citizens and preserving public order,” he stated.
