ALGIERS- In a recent development reported by Dzair Tube, the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) has initiated the search for a new head coach to succeed Djamel Belmadi. The decision comes as FAF anticipates upcoming significant challenges for the national team and is keen on expediting the selection process to ensure a smooth transition.
The federation is in advanced discussions with two experienced coaches, Vahid Halilhodžić and Hervé Renard, as potential successors to lead the Algerian national football team. Both coaches bring a wealth of international coaching experience and have achieved notable success in their careers.
Vahid Halilhodzic, known for his tactical acumen, has previously managed Algeria’s national team, guiding them to the knockout stages of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. His familiarity with Algerian football and his coaching credentials make him a compelling candidate for the position.
Hervé Renard, renowned for his achievements in African football, has led multiple national teams to success in continental competitions. His track record includes winning the Africa Cup of Nations with Zambia (2012) and the Ivory Coast (2015). Renard’s expertise in managing diverse teams could bring a fresh perspective to the Algerian squad.
