El Binaa Movement Hails ILO’s Recognition of Palestine as Observer State: A Landmark Step Toward International Legitimacy

Algiers, Algeria | June 7th, 2025 — The El Binaa al Watani Movement has welcomed, in the strongest terms, the historic and promising decision issued by the International Labour Organization (ILO) during its 113th Session in Geneva, which officially upgraded Palestine’s status from a national liberation movement to that of a non-member observer State. The resolution, adopted by an overwhelming majority during a high-level ministerial session, reflects the rising tide of international support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and their just cause.

President of the El Binaa al Watani Movement, Abdelkader Bengrina, hailed this diplomatic advancement as a milestone in the global recognition of Palestine’s sovereignty and national identity. He stressed that this political and moral achievement not only enhances Palestine’s institutional presence on the international stage, but also sends a clear message of solidarity from the international community in support of decolonization, freedom, and justice.

“This is a pivotal step on the path to full recognition of the State of Palestine,” Bengrina declared. “It reinforces Palestine’s rightful place in the global order, especially within international bodies that champion labor rights and justice for oppressed peoples.”

The El Binaa al Watani Movement emphasized that this recognition must become a platform for strengthening the socio-economic and union rights of Palestinian workers, who endure systematic violations under the brutal and illegal occupation imposed by the Zionist entity. Bengrina called upon all free nations, civil societies, and international organizations to redouble their efforts to confront the policies of the Zionists and hold them accountable for their ongoing crimes against the Palestinian people.

“This decision must not remain a symbolic gesture,” Bengrina insisted. “It should serve as a basis for comprehensive action to protect Palestinian dignity, defend their labor rights, and bring an end to the suffering inflicted by decades of occupation and apartheid policies practiced by the Zionist entity.”

He further praised the Algerian state’s unwavering diplomatic efforts in supporting the Palestinian cause and commended all countries that stood on the side of justice by voting in favor of the resolution. Bengrina reaffirmed that the El Binaa al Watani Movement will continue to advocate for Palestine in every international forum, considering it not merely a political issue, but a sacred struggle for freedom and a moral duty for all who believe in justice.

“The Zionist occupation’s days are numbered,” he concluded. “The ILO’s recognition is not just a bureaucratic formality—it is a declaration by the international conscience that the cause of Palestine is advancing, and that the world refuses to remain silent in the face of Zionist aggression and dispossession.”
