El-Djazair Takaful: Subscriptions Reach 76 Million Dinars

ALGIERS- One year after the launch of its activity, the value of subscriptions to El-Djazair Takaful has reached over 76 million Algerian dinars in 2023, announced the CEO of the company, Mahfoud Ziane Bouziane, as reported by the official APS news agency. In numbers, the company has recorded “compensation for more than 80 accident claims out of 100,” along with a growing interest from citizens and operators in Takaful insurance, which is compliant with Sharia principles.

Currently, El-Djazair Takaful operates 10 branches opened in 2023 and plans to double the number of branches in 2024, while offering “better services.”

The prospects appear promising. The revival of the automotive industry in Algeria, explained the same official, “will boost Islamic finance and Takaful insurance.”

In this regard, the CEO highlighted the signing of seven (7) agreements with public and private banks to cover various forms of Islamic finance they offer, through Takaful insurance products. The company is “in negotiations with other private banks with Islamic windows.”

Another “ambitious project” under consideration is the launch, in 2024, of a virtual e-marketing agency.
