First Doctoral Thesis Defended in Evening Session at University of M’sila

ALGIERS- In accordance with the recommendations of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the University of M’sila held its first evening doctoral thesis defense. The event took place on Sunday evening in Abdelmajid Allaham Lecture Hall, located in the Department of History within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Mohamed Boudiaf University.
The doctoral thesis, presented by Ferhatia Faouzi, focused on the rise of the institutions of the Algerian revolution and the emergence of the authority of the National Liberation Front. The thesis was supervised by Professor Saleh Lamiche, with Professor Ahmed Masoud serving as the chair of the discussion committee.
This evening defense was part of a larger reform strategy aimed at organizing pedagogical, research, and intellectual activities. The session took place from five o’clock in the evening until ten o’clock at night, reflecting the new procedure implemented by the Ministry to extend university operating hours.
Dr. Yahya Taqi Eddine, the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, emphasized that the evening defense was in line with the Ministry’s directives and the vision of Professor Kamel Baddari, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The decision to extend university hours until 10:00 PM demonstrates the Ministry’s commitment to facilitating student access and providing a more conducive environment for academic pursuits.
The Dean further explained that this measure would benefit students by offering greater flexibility in their scheduling and programming processes. The implementation of this decision has been met with great satisfaction by the M’sila University community, as it provides students with ample opportunities to engage in functional work and academic activities.
Overall, the successful evening defense of the first doctoral thesis at the University of M’sila marks an important milestone in the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and the advancement of research and knowledge.
