Foreign Press Hails Algeria’s Exemplary Organization of IATF-2025 as a Milestone for African Unity and Economic Sovereignty

Algiers – September 2025 – The opening of the 4th Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF-2025), hosted in Algiers from September 4 to 10 at the Abdelatif Rahal International Conference Center, has drawn resounding praise from international media representatives, who hailed Algeria’s organizational prowess, logistical capacities, and its ability to transform the event into a continental landmark for integration and economic emancipation.
In statements gathered on the sidelines of the inauguration, several foreign journalists emphasized that the Fair stands as a decisive step in strengthening both African economic cooperation and continental unity.
Mohamed Hemeda, correspondent for Russia’s Sputnik and member of the Egyptian Journalists’ Syndicate, commended Algeria’s exceptional mobilization of material and human resources, declaring: “Algeria has once again demonstrated its ability to host major events of continental and international scope.” He recalled Algeria’s recent successes, including the Arab Summit and the Gas Exporting Countries Forum Summit, underscoring the country’s steady and visible progress in multiple sectors with each visit he makes.
From Sierra Leone, Zineb Iyamid Jouaki, journalist with AWOKO Daily, highlighted the opportunities that stem from the Fair’s meticulous organization. “This event creates a platform for cooperation and advancement, particularly within the framework of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA),” she affirmed. Jouaki stressed that for exhibitors from across the continent, the Fair provides not only a venue to showcase products and services but also a rare chance to attract international investors and reinforce Africa’s economic base.
Echoing this sentiment, Nigerian journalist Moory Bross Ben underlined Algeria’s pivotal role in the continent’s integration process. With more than 2,000 companies participating in the Algiers edition, he insisted the Fair goes beyond commerce: “It opens strategic debates on trade and continental unity, fueling the ambition of building a strong and economically independent Africa.” He went further, framing the endeavor as a struggle for liberation: “This is a battle for freedom, and we must achieve economic independence.”
Bross Ben also emphasized the urgency of developing critical sectors such as healthcare, automotive industries, solar energy, and agriculture, which he described as the backbone of Africa’s self-sufficiency.
The chorus of foreign voices praising Algeria’s organizational excellence signals more than simple recognition. It reflects the growing consensus that Algeria has emerged as a continental hub, capable of catalyzing Africa’s collective aspirations. IATF-2025 is therefore not merely a trade fair, but a strategic platform where the continent’s future is negotiated, partnerships are cemented, and the vision of an independent and prosperous Africa takes shape in tangible form.
