Fury in Morocco as Golani Brigade Trains Moroccan Forces Amid Gaza Genocide: “We Will Not Be Complicit with the Zionist Entity”

Rabat’s collusion with war criminals crosses all red lines: “We are not allies—we are accomplices.”

Algiers, Algeria | May 31st, 2025 — In an act of staggering betrayal, the Moroccan regime has laid bare its full complicity with the Zionist entity, allowing soldiers from the infamous Golani Brigade—a Zionist military unit synonymous with war crimes—to train Moroccan forces in tunnel warfare on national soil, while the people of Gaza are being annihilated in real time.

Photos released by the U.S. Africa Command show Zionist troops, donning brown berets and carrying insignias of Golani, actively training Moroccan special forces at the Tifnit base, south of Agadir, as part of the U.S.-sponsored African Lion military drills. This grotesque spectacle unfolded while Gaza remains under siege, with over 54,000 Palestinians—mostly civilians—slaughtered in a barbaric twenty-month assault, and entire neighborhoods leveled into dust.

This is not mere “military cooperation.” It is flagrant, unmasked collaboration with genocidaires. It is treason against Palestine. And it is a knife in the back of a people whose cause has long been sacred to the Arab conscience.

Kareem Hassoun, co-founder of the Brussels-based Hind Rajab Foundation, which tracks Zionist war criminals abroad, minced no words: “Training alongside Golani during an ongoing genocide is not just immoral—it’s an act of complicity. This regime has sold its soul.”

The tunnel warfare drills—mirroring the brutal methods used to suffocate, trap, and execute Palestinians in Gaza—were conducted not just in Tifnit, but across multiple cities, including Kenitra, Ben Guerir, and Tiznit. They involved the deployment of robotics and surveillance systems to detect and destroy underground shelters, the very tactics now being used to massacre civilians in Rafah, Khan Younis, and Gaza City.

A Regime That Betrays Its Own People

For decades, Morocco’s monarchy paraded its support for the Palestinian cause—empty slogans designed to placate a pro-Palestinian public while striking secret deals with Tel Aviv. That mask has now fallen. What began as diplomatic normalization in exchange for Washington’s recognition of Moroccan claims over Western Sahara has spiraled into full military coordination with a settler-colonial regime conducting a live-streamed extermination campaign.

“This is no longer covert,” said exiled Moroccan journalist Ali Lmrabet. “We’ve become a Zionist protectorate. Our regime is coordinating with an army that slaughters children and buries medics alive.”

Indeed, the Golani Brigade’s blood-stained record is not conjecture—it is fact. In March, the very same unit murdered fifteen humanitarian workers from the Red Crescent, UNRWA, and Gaza’s Civil Defense in Rafah. Their bodies, some still in uniform, were buried in a mass grave by occupation forces. This was no battlefield accident; it was a calculated execution.

And now, those same killers are training Moroccan soldiers.

The Moroccan Street Erupts

Public outrage has reached fever pitch. On Tuesday evening, hundreds of protesters filled the streets outside the Moroccan Parliament in Rabat, waving Palestinian flags and chanting, “Normalization is betrayal”, “The people want an end to Zionist infiltration”, and “America is the enemy of peoples.”

The protest, organized by the Moroccan Front for Support of Palestine and Against Normalization—a coalition of 15 political, labor, and human rights organizations—was not an isolated event. Since the Zionist entity renewed its savage offensive on Gaza in March, Moroccan cities have erupted with weekly marches and sit-ins, reflecting the unwavering solidarity of a betrayed people.

“This alliance with war criminals insults our intelligence and tramples on our history,” said Fouad Abdelmoumni, a prominent opposition economist. “Morocco wants to prove its loyalty to Washington and the Zionists. But at what cost? The blood of Palestine is the price.”

From Resistance to Repression

Despite the regime’s authoritarian grip, the cracks are widening. While King Mohammed VI continues to pose as the “Commander of the Faithful,” his security apparatus hosts those responsible for desecrating Al-Aqsa Mosque, starving 2.3 million people in Gaza, and flattening UN-run schools. His silence is not neutrality—it is endorsement.

“This is not foreign policy—it’s moral collapse,” said Mohamed El-Ghafri, national coordinator of the Moroccan Front. “The people reject normalization. The regime ignores them. History will not.”

A Genocide Made in Coordination

The participation of the Zionist entity in the African Lion drills is more than symbolic. It represents an alarming militarization of Arab-Zionist normalization. the Zionist entity is not merely present—it is leading, teaching, embedding its doctrine of ethnic cleansing into the Moroccan military framework. The so-called “interoperability” heralded by U.S. and Moroccan officials translates into one thing: joint preparation for crimes against Arab populations.

How can a nation that claims to defend Palestinian rights align itself with the very architects of their extermination?

History Will Judge

In the face of global denunciation—including from Western parliaments, international jurists, and even Jewish anti-Zionist organizations—Morocco stands isolated in its slavish alliance with a genocidal regime. Its regime has made a Faustian bargain: Israeli reconnaissance for American political favors, at the cost of Palestinian blood.

But no tyranny is eternal. No betrayal is forgotten. The Moroccan people have spoken in the streets, on social media, and across generations: Palestine is not for sale. The regime may train with war criminals today, but tomorrow it will answer to its own people.

Because history has no mercy for collaborators.
