What struck me most as I watched a video of Al-Qassam Brigades carrying out an ambush against the Zionist entity’s forces was not the weaponry, nor the maneuver itself, but the sight of fighters shielding themselves with nothing more than blankets.

A simple act. A stroke of military genius:

In an age where military technology reigns supreme—where the Zionists boast of satellites, drones, and thermal cameras—the Palestinian fighter emerges wrapped in an old blanket, transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary. The image is deceptively simple, yet it encapsulates a battle of mind and will.

The Purpose and the Strategy

This blanket is not just a piece of fabric. It is a silent shield defying the most advanced surveillance systems. It confuses lenses trained to detect human features, disrupts thermal rays seeking body heat, and allows the Palestinian fighter to melt seamlessly into the rubble and dust of Gaza—like a shadow that cannot be seized.

The Symbolism of the Scene

The fighter cloaked in a blanket looks like a man stepping out of his own home. He carries nothing but faith in his heart, and the simplicity of the poor upon his shoulders. No camouflage uniforms, no cutting-edge gear—just an old piece of cloth, elevated by ingenuity into a weapon of concealment, a banner of defiance, and a badge of dignity.

It is an image that distills the essence of the struggle: the Zionist entity may command every instrument of power, yet it lacks the spirit; while the fighter, armed with spirit alone, turns the little he has into the impossible.

Indeed, it is a picture that says more than a thousand speeches—a message of resilience, resourcefulness, and the unyielding will of a people who fight with nothing but everything that matters.
