General Said Chanegriha Extends Eid al-Adha Greetings to All ANP Personnel

Chief of Staff of the Algerian People’s National Army urges unity and dedication in safeguarding Algeria’s sovereignty amid global challenges

Algiers, Algeria | June 6th, 2025 — On the occasion of Eid al-Adha 1446H, General of the Army Saïd Chanegriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (ANP), addressed a heartfelt message of greetings to all personnel of the ANP—officers, non-commissioned officers, rank-and-file soldiers, and civilian staff—offering his best wishes of health, strength, and devotion to duty.

“It is with great pleasure,” Chanegriha wrote, “that I extend my warmest congratulations to all members of the ANP and, through them, to their families and loved ones. I pray to the Almighty that He renews these sacred religious occasions and grants us the will and perseverance to continue striving with sincerity, so that our People’s National Army may pursue its modernization process and capacity-building efforts. In doing so, it shall remain the invincible bulwark preserving Algeria’s security, stability, and sovereignty.”

The Army Chief called on ANP personnel to redouble their efforts in fulfilling their constitutional duties, “chief among them the protection of Algeria’s independence, the consolidation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and the preservation of its national unity.” He stressed that this imperative takes on heightened urgency in light of the global context, marked by major challenges and profound transformations.

“In such circumstances, it is crucial for all components of the nation to unite behind the promising national development project led by the President of the Republic, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defence, aimed at elevating Algeria and advancing its economic, military, and strategic growth.”

General Chanegriha also expressed pride in the notable achievements of the ANP throughout the year, citing major progress in force readiness, counterterrorism operations, the fight against organized crime, and the suppression of smuggling networks.

“These accomplishments reflect the valor of our Army and the deep trust it enjoys among our resilient people and partner nations. They compel us to work harder, to strive further, and to preserve the gains obtained through the efforts of generations of sincere patriots, first among them the martyrs of Algeria.”

Concluding his message, the General called upon all ANP personnel to observe a moment of reverence for Algeria’s fallen heroes: “Those martyrs, with their total dedication and unwavering loyalty, embodied the highest values of sacrifice and devotion. They must remain our guiding example, and we must endeavor to honor their immeasurable sacrifices.”
