Government Meeting Reviews Key Reforms in Education, Culture, and Vocational Training

๐๐ต๐ฐ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ป๐ผ โ ๐๐ช๐ท๐พ๐ช๐ป๐ ๐๐๐๐ โย The Prime Minister, Mr. Sifi Ghrieb, chaired on Wednesday, 14 January 2026, a meeting of the Government devoted to examining several strategic files related to education, culture, and vocational training, according to a communiquรฉ issued by the Prime Ministerโs services.
At the forefront of the agenda was the examination of a draft executive decree defining the modalities for opening special classes within the ordinary school environment, as well as the conditions for granting reasonable accommodations during examinations and competitive contests for persons with specific needs. This initiative reflects a clear governmental commitment to ensuring effective and inclusive integration of learners with special needs into the mainstream educational system.
The approach is based on coordinated action among the sectors responsible for national solidarity, national education, and health, with the objective of embedding special classes within regular schools. This policy seeks to give concrete expression to the principle of equal opportunity by guaranteeing the right to education and learning without discrimination, through the provision of appropriate pedagogical support and tailored arrangements that enable these students to pursue their schooling and sit for examinations and competitions under adapted conditions.
In the cultural sphere, the Government heard a communication on the project to establish the Algerian Philharmonic Orchestra, an initiative aimed at consolidating Algeriaโs presence on the international cultural stage as an active and influential cultural force. The creation of a professional national orchestra, embodied in the Algerian Philharmonic Orchestra, was presented as an urgent necessity and a fundamental guarantee for the interpretation, reinterpretation, and celebration of Algeriaโs rich musical heritage.
The primary mission of the orchestra will be to preserve this national heritage, foster artistic appreciation, nurture talent, and support musical creativity, thereby contributing to the development of cultural expression and the promotion of Algerian cultural identity at both national and international levels.
Finally, the Government examined a communication on the national reference framework for training and competencies, one of the key structural reforms undertaken by the vocational training sector. This reform is part of a comprehensive vision aimed at improving employability, developing human resources, and achieving a qualitative transition from a program-based training model to a modern approach centered on professional competencies demanded by the labor market.
This reference framework provides a unified and clear reading of national skills needs and ensures coordination between training, employment, and investment policies. It directly links training pathways to officially recognized professions within the national classification of occupations and employment, thereby reinforcing coherence, efficiency, and alignment with economic realities.
