The Director General reflects on the journey of Haras Elegance, stating that in 2019, the land was characterized by desolation, covered entirely in marshes. However, through tireless efforts, the marshy terrain was reclaimed and converted into fertile soil. Leveraging modern agricultural practices, including precision farming methods, the farm now boasts a diverse range of crops, including peaches, apricots, and plums, spanning its lush 25-hectare expanse.
Beyond its agricultural prowess, Haras Elegance serves as a vibrant hub for equestrian activities, fruit cultivation, and horse breeding, contributing significantly to the agricultural diversity of the region. Visitors are welcomed to explore the farm and witness the beauty of its horses amidst the splendor of the farm arena.
The realm of equine breeding at Haras Elegance encompasses a rich tapestry of breeds, each celebrated for its distinct characteristics and purposes. From the agility of French sport horses to the endurance of purebred Arabians, the farm’s journey of development and refinement has been marked by both challenges and triumphs. Notably, the farm has achieved significant milestones in breeding French sport horses locally, facilitating their participation in national and international competitions. Moreover, efforts have been made to revive indigenous breeds such as the Barbary horse, further enriching the farm’s equine population and contributing to Algeria’s equestrian heritage.
Mohamed Al Amine Lahoual said in this vein, “The farm has achieved significant milestones in breeding French sport horses, previously imported but now locally produced. These horses participate in national and international competitions, showcasing their prowess.”
And to add, “Additionally, efforts have been made to revive indigenous breeds such as the Barbary horse, enriching the farm’s equine population. Once overlooked in Algeria, the breeding of high-quality horses has emerged as a focal point of ambition. Through dedicated efforts, the vision extends beyond mere acquisition to the pursuit of excellence across all equestrian disciplines. Investments in both competitive and endurance horses, as well as facilities like the new sand arena, reflect a commitment to fostering a thriving equestrian culture capable of competing on the global stage.”
In line with its commitment to promoting equestrian sports, Haras Elegance organizes both national and international equestrian tournaments, attracting participants from across the region. Plans are underway to expand the farm’s facilities to accommodate larger-scale international events, with the recent successful hosting of a national championship marking a significant achievement for Algerian equestrian sports.

Plans are underway to expand the farm’s facilities to accommodate larger-scale international events. With participants from across the nation, the event garnered full satisfaction from authorities and enthusiastic approval from spectators.”
Idiran Mohamed, Secretary General of the National Equestrian Federation, commends; on his part, the farm for its adherence to international standards, positioning it among the top-tier equestrian clubs in Algeria. He emphasizes the growing reputation and appeal of the club within the equestrian community, setting a positive precedent for future competitions and fostering broader participation in regional and international arenas.
Looking ahead, Haras Elegance envisions hosting international competitions by 2024-2025, cementing its status as a national asset and center for equestrian excellence. In addition to breeding and sporting endeavors, the farm serves as an educational hub, offering specialized courses and equine therapy sessions for individuals with autism, thereby promoting community engagement and holistic well-being.
