How Algerians Rallied Behind President Tebboune, Crushed the Smear Campaigns, and Proved Their Leader Stands with His People at All Times

Algiers, Algeria | The meeting convened today by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune silenced the shrill voices of detractors and dealt a decisive blow to the scavengers who lurk in the shadows, eagerly awaiting turmoil in Algeria. For weeks, malicious whispers circulated on social media, weaving a web of deceit and speculation with the sole aim of spreading chaos and despair.
With poisonous tongues, they questioned the President’s health, even going so far as to cast doubt on his very life—all in a sordid attempt to sow discord, weaken national morale, and fabricate the illusion of a “vacuum” at the helm of the state.
Yet, despite this orchestrated campaign of venom, nothing has changed, nor could it. The agitators and their hollow provocations remain powerless before the solid bond uniting President Tebboune and his people. Algeria’s sovereign institutions are not swayed by the delirium of fringe actors seeking equal footing with a head of state whose leadership is defined by wisdom, foresight, and profound trust in his nation. The President does not need to defend himself; his people defend him, instinctively and unwaveringly.
What these scattered mercenaries fail to comprehend is that Algerians stand firmly with their President—whether present in the public eye or momentarily away—because they know his true worth. They harbor no illusions about the mercenary networks that traffic in disinformation, and social media has become a battleground where Algerian voices, united, dismantle and expose the malevolent agendas of those who wish the country ill.
One phrase became the rallying cry of this period: “Aami Tebboune” (Uncle Tebboune). Far from a casual epithet, it crystallized the intimate bond between leader and people, echoing across comments, debates, and virtual forums. Each time the Moroccan regime’s digital army attempted to inject doubt and suspicion, Algerians answered with loyalty, conviction, and sharp rebuttals that left the propagandists disarmed.
The President’s public appearance today delivered the final blow: the barking hounds retreated to their dens, defeated and humiliated, while Algerians breathed a sigh of vindication. His return from a well-deserved summer break was a reminder that Algeria is not a monarchy where a ruler squanders the nation’s wealth in indulgence. Rather, it is a republic led by a man who earns the right to rest after a year of decisive reforms, while remaining ever attentive to the needs of his people.
Indeed, Tebboune did not return empty-handed. His immediate unveiling of urgent, pragmatic measures—such as the emergency purchase of 10,000 buses to strengthen public transport, the authorization of large-scale tire imports to remedy shortages, and decisive steps to address road safety—demonstrates that even during his vacation, he was working with clarity and determination.
This episode revealed much more than the impotence of Algeria’s enemies; it underscored the deep affection and trust between the people and their President. Anyone navigating social media these past weeks could not miss the vast outpouring of loyalty, or the unified front dismantling the Moroccan propaganda machine, exposing mercenaries and traitors alike.
Between President Tebboune and the Algerian people lies a bond so profound, so unshakable, that no smear campaign can touch it. Those who persist in trying are like farmers attempting to plough the sea: futile, exhausting, and destined for failure.
