Algiers, Algeria | In a decisive move reflecting Algeria’s commitment to hosting a landmark continental event, the Minister of Domestic Trade and Regulation of the National Market, Tayeb Zitouni, convened a high-level coordination meeting on Sunday with senior officials from his department to evaluate and intensify the ongoing preparations for the 4th Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF 2025). The fair is scheduled to take place in Algiers from September 4 to 10, 2025, an event set to position Algeria at the epicenter of Africa’s economic and commercial exchanges.

Zitouni underscored the imperative of maintaining a relentless pace of work and fostering close coordination with the IATF 2025 Commissioner, Ambassador Larbi Latrèche, alongside his deputies, Ambassadors Abdelkrim Beha and Messaoud Mehila. Their collective efforts, the Minister emphasized, must be driven by a shared objective: to guarantee an organizational model that meets, if not exceeds, the expectations of Algeria, its African partners, and the broader international community.

In his address, the Minister issued firm directives to double down on efforts, urging for a comprehensive strengthening of oversight mechanisms across all preparatory committees. This includes meticulous supervision of infrastructure development and exhibition spaces, optimization of logistical services, and the proactive facilitation of national economic operators’ participation in this pivotal continental showcase.

“The credibility of Algeria’s economic vision and its standing within Africa’s commercial landscape depend on our capacity to deliver a fair that is not only well-organized but transformative,” Zitouni stressed, signaling that the government views IATF 2025 as more than just a trade fair—it is a strategic platform for Africa’s integration and Algeria’s leadership role therein.
