Improving Citizen Care is a Manifestation of President Tebboune’s Commitments, says Republic’s Mediator

ALGIERS- Madjid Ammour, the Republic’s Mediator, affirmed on Saturday that working to improve the care of citizens’ concerns is a manifestation of one of the commitments of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

During the opening session of the first regional forum, Ammour stated, “What is being accomplished today in collaboration with local authorities at the national level is the result of a political will of the president, and he has fulfilled it.”

The speaker called for “joint work between various bodies to elevate the relationship between the administration and the citizen to the level of his aspirations, considering it one of the priorities of the President of the Republic, especially as he has made it the focus of all public policies in fulfillment of his commitments aimed at protecting the rights of citizens and establishing the rule of law.”

Madjid Ammour highlighted the close collaboration between the Republic’s Mediation Authority and the Ministry of the Interior in addressing citizens’ concerns through coordination in the field of handling citizens’ complaints. He emphasized that this is a strong indication of the attention given by public authorities to addressing citizens’ concerns.

The Republic’s Mediator pointed out that “the endeavor to ensure optimal care for citizens’ concerns inevitably passes through improving the service and eliminating all bureaucratic obstacles and impediments that burden the citizen and hinder his interests.” He stressed the importance of continuous evaluation of received complaints and their accurate processing to diagnose their causes, enabling the identification of all imbalances that hinder the good performance of various public facilities.

“The challenge today is to optimally care for the citizen within the framework of respecting the laws and effective regulations,” he added, highlighting that “benefiting from a quality and qualitative public service requires facilitating access to information, advancing digitization, developing e-government, and continuing to simplify administrative procedures and improve reception.”

On his part, the Inspector General of the Ministry of the Interior and Local Assemblies, Belaid Tayti, reported that “the analysis of citizens’ complaints received by the Ministry of the Interior and Local Authorities from the Republic’s Mediation Authority focuses on various housing files, local development, employment, and integration issues.”
