In an operation involving two locally made vessels, Salaouatchi: Algeria caught its entire bluefin tuna quota

Minister of of Marine Fishing and Fishery Products, Hichem Sofiane Salaouatchi, announced that Algeria has fished its entire bluefin tuna quota.

This happened during its reception of bluefin tuna fishing vessels, at the port of Gouraia, in the wilaya of Tipaza, where 29 fishing vessels participated in this trip for the first time, including two made with national means. .

Among the participating vessels, the vessel “Hadj Ammar”, made by 100% Algerian hands, in just 11 months, on which the fishermen bet during this trip to catch stubborn tunas.

The vessel “Hadj Ammar” returned from its first fishing trip loaded with its quota, competing with larger foreign vessels that have experience in bluefin tuna fishing.

This ship is a precious gain for the wilaya and the Algerian navy, especially since it has dispelled the doubts that hovered over the success of the national industry, as the success of the ship Hadj Ammar is an example for many somewhat frozen industries.

The Sector Minister also supervised, during his visit to the wilaya of Tipaza, the inauguration and the launch of a new investment in the municipality of Larhat, which consists of a sea bream fish breeding farm (MEDIFISH) with a production capacity of 700 tons.

It should be noted that the Marine Fishing and Fishery Products sector has experienced unprecedented prosperity since the young minister Hichem Sofiane Salaouatchi took office at the head of the ministry.
