International Quds Day in Algeria: A Demonstration of Scholarly and Political Solidarity with Iran’s Resilience Against American-Zionist War

ALGIERS, March 14th, 2026 — Amid an atmosphere charged with symbolic and political significance for the Palestinian cause, the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Algeria commemorated International Quds Day with a distinguished gathering of political, intellectual, and media figures. The event unfolded while the American-Zionist war against Iran and the region continues in full force, and the Islamic Republic demonstrates, on multiple fronts, measurable and observable resilience in defense of its sovereignty and the broader causes of the Ummah.

Representatives from Algeria’s political spectrum—including the Labour Party, the Movement of Society for Peace (MSP/HMS), and the El Binaa al Watani Movement—joined academics, journalists, researchers, and representatives of Palestinian factions in Algeria. Their convergence underscored the national and transnational significance of the Palestinian cause, confirming that the struggle for liberation transcends narrow political agendas to resonate with the conscience and identity of the Ummah.

In his address, Iran’s Ambassador to Algeria, Mohammad Reza Babaei, emphasized that Iran’s commitment to Palestine originates from a deeply rooted principle established since the Islamic Revolution. He reaffirmed that support for the Palestinian people constitutes a moral and political imperative, reflecting the conviction that liberating El Quds is the duty of the entire Ummah. Crucially, he highlighted that the Iranian people, through millions-strong public demonstrations, confirm complete solidarity with their leadership—a unity that has enabled Iran to withstand foreign conspiracies and aggression over decades.

Across Tehran and other Iranian cities, the evidence of national cohesion was unmistakable. Millions marched in highly disciplined demonstrations, raising banners of resistance and solidarity with Palestine, manifesting a singular alignment between state and citizenry in the face of the American-Zionist offensive. Senior Iranian leaders—including the President, ministers, and high-ranking officials—walked directly among the crowds, embodying a principle that leadership and people constitute an indivisible entity. Aggressors who sought to sow division encountered unity; those who sought to instill fear met mass mobilizations of millions, demonstrating unbroken resolve and political determination.

This mobilization is not limited to symbolic or single-day events. Nightly gatherings across Iran continue under conditions of full-scale war, with citizens actively defending their homeland, asserting loyalty to their cause, and demonstrating coordination with national leadership. This ongoing evidence confirms that Iran functions as a cohesive and resilient society: its shared doctrine and combat commitment constitute a force impervious to external aggression, and its unity is a living rebuke to those who wagered on its fragmentation.

The Algerian commemoration reinforced this reality. Speakers expressed unequivocal support for the Islamic Republic of Iran, praising its steadfast defense of the dignity of the Ummah and its leadership in standing with Palestine against hegemonic and imperialist designs. They underscored a stark choice in the current phase of global struggle: resistance and steadfastness, or submission to dominating powers.

The most revealing dimension of this ongoing war lies in the rhetoric from Washington. When the American-Zionist war against Iran was launched, Donald Trump attempted to frame the military offensive as an operation in the name of the Iranian people, claiming the aim was to “liberate” them. Yet this claim dissolved when the Iranian public mobilized en masse. Millions, gathering nightly and on Quds Day itself, proved themselves neither passive nor fractured, but politically conscious and resolutely aligned with their leadership. Faced with this reality, Trump abruptly reversed course, branding Iran “a nation of terror and hate.” The speed and bluntness of this rhetorical shift expose the true nature of such proclamations: a pretext for aggression, a strategy of intimidation, and an attempt to impose political outcomes by force.

The millions who marched and mobilized in Iran provide living evidence of a society whose sovereignty is inseparable from its collective consciousness. They respond to aggression not with silence, but with presence—visible, disciplined, and politically articulate. Those who wagered on division encountered unity; those who anticipated fear confronted determination; and those who sought to fracture a society discovered that under the weight of aggression, it had become far more formidable: a nation bound together by the conviction that its sovereignty and dignity are not negotiable.

In Algeria, the commemoration of Quds Day highlighted the universality of these lessons. It demonstrated that solidarity with a people defending their homeland and ideals is both moral and strategic. When leadership, people, and collective resolve converge, aggression—regardless of scale or intensity—cannot weaken a nation. The Islamic Republic of Iran, through the unity of its citizenry and leadership, has become a living symbol of resistance, defiance, and enduring resilience in the face of continuous American-Zionist aggression.
