Algiers, Algeria | June 19th, 2025 — In a significant diplomatic gesture, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Algeria, Mohammad Reza Babaei, expressed deep appreciation for Algeria’s firm and principled stance in condemning the recent Zionist aggression against Iran. The statement was made during a meeting on Thursday with Abdelaâli Hassani Cherif, President of the Movement of Society for Peace (MSP), one of Algeria’s prominent political parties.

The Iranian diplomat went on to salute Algeria’s solidarity with the Iranian people, describing it as consistent with Algeria’s historical and unwavering support for oppressed nations. He praised Algeria’s diplomatic position, which condemned “the blatant Zionist aggression” and rejected the expansionist ambitions of the Zionist occupation, particularly in light of its continued targeting of sovereign nations and destabilization efforts in the Middle East.

Strategic Dialogue and Shared Resistance to Colonial Agendas

The meeting also served as a platform for strategic dialogue on the wider consequences of the recent Zionist hostilities, particularly their impact on the Palestinian cause, a matter that unites both Iran and Algeria. The two sides shared concerns over the West’s ongoing endorsement of Zionist military and political excesses, which not only violate international norms but also undermine regional peace and stability.

The political leader emphasized Algeria’s enduring commitment to just causes, especially its unflinching support for Palestine and resistance against all forms of foreign aggression. The Iranian ambassador, in turn, reaffirmed Tehran’s admiration for Algeria’s consistent foreign policy, which has historically rejected colonialism, apartheid, and imperial domination in all forms.

Algeria’s Official Condemnation of the Attack

Algeria had officially condemned the attack in a communiqué issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, denouncing the “flagrant Zionist aggression” launched against the Islamic Republic of Iran, which began early Friday morning and continued with serious violations of international sovereignty.

The Algerian statement reiterated its call for restraint, respect for international law, and the need to hold the Zionist entity accountable for its repeated provocations and destabilizing actions in the region.
