Italian Company Unveils Green Electricity Production Project in Algeria

ALGIERS- Today, at the Ministry’s headquarters, the Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, welcomed Alessandra Pasini, the President and General Manager of the Italian renewable energy company, “Zhiro”.

In a statement released by the Ministry of Energy, it was revealed that the meeting focused on exploring avenues to strengthen cooperation and investment in the realm of new and renewable energies. Key areas of discussion included the production of solar photovoltaic energy, electrical interconnection with Italy, and the advancement of green hydrogen and ammonia technologies.

During the meeting, Minister Arkab provided a comprehensive overview of Algeria’s ambitious program for developing new and renewable energies through Sonelgaz, as well as the national strategy for hydrogen development. He emphasized the sector’s readiness to enhance collaboration in renewable energy investment policies, offering practical and scientific tools, exchanging experiences, providing training opportunities, and facilitating technology transfer.

In turn, Pasini delivered an engaging presentation on a project aimed at developing renewable energies and generating green electricity in Algeria, leveraging cutting-edge technologies in the field.

Both parties agreed to establish a joint working team to thoroughly examine all aspects of the project proposed by “Zhiro”.
