Journalist Dounia Filali Accuses King of Neglecting National Duty by Spending Morocco’s Historic Day in Paris

“On Independence Day (as it is called), a day meant to embody the spirit of liberation and national sovereignty, King Mohammed VI chose to spend it on the streets of Paris, shopping with friends in the very country from which Morocco supposedly gained independence. This glaring absence reflects a blatant disregard for his people and the significance of this historic day, raising profound questions about his priorities and commitment to national issues.”

In her latest YouTube video, Filali elaborated on the controversy surrounding the King’s appearance in Paris, particularly his decision to remain abroad during such a symbolic occasion. She highlighted the stark contrast between the King’s domestic role as a leader and his activities abroad, emphasizing the public’s frustration over his prolonged absences from Morocco.

Referring to widely circulated photographs of the King in Paris, Filali criticized the timing, noting that these images surfaced on November 18, a day of profound national significance. She questioned the King’s priorities, asserting that such actions disregard the symbolic weight of the occasion and the expectations of the Moroccan people.

The journalist also addressed the broader implications of the King’s frequent absences, arguing that it undermines the responsibilities of a leader who is entrusted with the nation’s governance and resources.
