Kamel Rezig Advocates for Robust, Resilient Arab Economic Bloc

๐๐ต๐ฐ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ป๐ผ โ ๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐ป๐พ๐ช๐ป๐ ๐๐๐๐ โย At the opening of the 117th session of the Economic and Social Council of the League of Arab States, which he chaired, Algeriaโs Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, Professor Kamel Rezig, articulated a forward-looking vision for integrated economic development across the Arab world. Addressing fellow ministers, Rezig emphasized the urgent need for collective action to confront global economic challenges and strengthen regional resilience.
The minister called for the creation of a solid, resilient economic conglomerate anchored in unity and productive partnerships. โArab nations must adopt common mechanisms, regulatory frameworks, and convergent economic policies,โ he asserted, highlighting that Algeria had submitted a series of proposals during this session, which were formally validated by Council members.
Professor Rezig also spotlighted Algeriaโs initiatives to combat climate change, including the ambitious Green Dam project designed to curb desertification. He further underscored the Algerian leadershipโs commitment to harnessing artificial intelligence as a driver of both economic growth and labor market transformation.
Looking ahead, Rezig announced that Algeria will host the second edition of the Arab SMEs Congress and Conference in April under the slogan โPromoting Competitiveness and Innovation.โ This landmark event is expected to provide an invaluable platform for sharing successful business experiences and connecting entrepreneurs across the region.
At the outset of his address, the minister extended his gratitude to his Tunisian counterpart, who presided over the previous session, and met on the sidelines of the plenary discussions to explore new avenues for bilateral cooperation.
