Kamel Rezig Oversees Four Major Industrial Export Operations from Tlemcen as Algeria Eyes Global Markets

ALGIERS, March 5th, 2026 โ Algeriaโs Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, Kamel Rezig, personally supervised on Thursday in Tlemcen the launch of four significant export operations for industrial products destined for multiple international markets.
These initiatives include the export of 17 tons of paper by the company Miga Warak to Tunisia, 21 tons of plastic fibers by the Algerian Polyester Fiber Factory of Tlemcen to Egypt, and 75 tons of carob-derived products by Boubelenza, targeting Thailand, Vietnam, and Guatemala.
In addition, Rezig oversaw, via videoconference, another operation involving the export of six trucks loaded with household appliances by the official representative of Samsung Algeria from Sรฉtif to Tunisia. He emphasized that all exported products are entirely manufactured locally, spanning sectors such as electronics, food products, paper, and plastics.
The Minister also commended the healthy competition between wilayas in driving export initiatives. He highlighted that the primary objective for 2026 is to reinvigorate the export momentum, recognizing the positive impact of exports on economic operators and the national economy as a whole.
During the opening of the Shoe and Leather Fair, organized at the Abdellah Benmansour Multipurpose Hall in Tlemcen, in coordination with the Tafna Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and running until March 9 with participation from approximately 80 exhibitors from across Algeria, Rezig underlined the quality and technical mastery demonstrated by participants. This reflects the sectorโs capabilities and potential.
Rezig further emphasized that industrial export success depends foremost on guaranteed product quality, noting that Algeriaโs shoe industry is progressively opening to global markets and international competition. This advancement is a direct result of the strategic policies implemented under President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, whose initiatives are already yielding visible results in the apparel and footwear sectors.
