ALGIERS-  President Abdelmadjid Tebboune chaired a meeting of the Council of Ministers on Sunday, focusing on presentations covering several sectors, according to a statement from the Presidency of the Republic.

“Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, President of the Republic, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defense, chaired today a meeting of the Council of Ministers dedicated to presentations on the specific status and compensation system for officials belonging to specific bodies of the national education, progress report on the digitization strategy, the new mission of the pilot farms, the strategy of the Hydraulic sector for drinking water and wastewater, as well as an assessment in preparation for the 2024 Hajj season,” the statement read.

Digitization: Moving to the Next Level

Regarding the digitization process, President Tebboune gave firm instructions to move to the next level for completing this process across all sectors. President Tebboune also ordered the digitization of sector-specific data to prepare for the implementation of the digital platform and hosting of all information.

Agriculture: Pilot Farms Change Status

During this meeting, President Tebboune ordered the transformation of the status of pilot agricultural farms. These farms are thus transitioning to units for the production of pulses, table oil, and oil-bearing trees.

National Education: Teachers Not Just Civil Servants

Finally, concerning the national education sector, President Tebboune ordered a thorough study of the content of the project for the specific status and compensation system for officials belonging to specific bodies of national education.
