Algiers, Algeria | June 16th, 2025 — In a firm response to threats against the integrity of national examinations, the tribunal of Aflou in the wilaya of Laghouat issued a one-year prison sentence against a young woman for unlawfully publishing Baccalaureate exam subjects on social media.

According to a statement released by the public prosecutor of the Aflou tribunal, the offense occurred on the second day of the 2025 Baccalaureate session. The defendant was apprehended for disseminating examination content online in violation of strict national measures safeguarding the fairness and confidentiality of academic testing.

Tried under the legal mechanism of comparution immédiate (immediate appearance), the defendant was swiftly found guilty and sentenced to one year of imprisonment, along with a fine of one million Algerian dinars (10 million centimes).

This ruling follows another recent case in the wilaya of Chlef, reflecting a pattern of attempted digital cheating that judicial authorities are determined to stamp out.

The tribunal emphasized that such actions constitute a grave violation of national education standards and merit-based evaluation, vowing to apply the law rigorously against all those who compromise the credibility of public examinations.
