The statement specified that the incident occurred during a planned flight involving a military transport aircraft of type BE-1900, which crashed on the afternoon of March 5, 2026, moments after its departure from the Boufarik Air Base.
The aircraft had six crew members on board. The accident tragically resulted in the martyrdom of two officers, while the four remaining crew members sustained injuries and were urgently transferred to the Central Military Hospital for medical care.
In its communiquรฉ, the Ministry of National Defence confirmed the circumstances of the accident, stating that the crash occurred during a scheduled mission and caused the loss of two personnel alongside injuries to the rest of the crew.
