Minister Arkab Addresses Citizen Concerns in Meeting with Medea Parliamentarians

ALGIERS- Energy and Mines Minister, Mohamed Arkab, engaged in a meeting on Thursday with parliamentary representatives from the Medea province to address various concerns expressed by the local population, as announced by the ministry in an official statement.

The meeting focused on providing updates and solutions regarding energy connections, including gas and electricity, for new urban areas, rural habitats, remote zones, and agricultural areas. Additionally, discussions encompassed financial support for sports teams and employment initiatives through sector-specific structures.

The statement specified that topics covered also included the rehabilitation and relocation of certain electrical networks, the refurbishment of Naftal service stations with Sirghaz products, and the potential establishment of new stations throughout the province, especially along the highway.

The parliamentarians expressed particular concern about mining investment projects in the province, notably the Barite material extraction project in the municipality of Berrouaghia.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Minister Arkab assured that all proposals would be duly considered, examined, and addressed. He affirmed the continuation of previously outlined programs and initiatives, underscoring the ministry’s commitment to addressing the citizens’ concerns effectively.
