Minister Djelaoui Inspects Progress of the Djen-Djen–El Eulma Highway Project in Jijel

Algiers – October 2025 – Abdelkader Djelaoui, Minister of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure, continued his working visit to the wilaya of Jijel to oversee the progress of major infrastructure projects, foremost among them the East-West Highway linking Djen-Djen to El Eulma. The visit aimed to ensure the effective advancement of works across several key segments, with particular attention given to the strategic Teksana tunnel.
During the inspection, Minister Djelaoui issued firm instructions to the executing companies, urging strict compliance with construction standards, safety protocols, and project deadlines. His directives underscored the government’s determination to deliver this vital infrastructure project within the planned timeframe while maintaining the highest quality benchmarks.
The Minister also examined critical bottlenecks hindering the overall progress of the project. He emphasized the necessity of enhanced interdepartmental coordination to swiftly remove obstacles and facilitate the smooth continuation of works. Djelaoui reaffirmed that the timely completion of the Djen-Djen–El Eulma highway is of strategic importance, as it will significantly improve national connectivity, boost economic exchanges, and reinforce regional development dynamics.
