awThe strategy of the Minister of Fisheries and Fish Production, Hicham Sofiane Salaouatchi, has led to a drop in the price of fish products of all kinds, which has led to blocking the way for speculators and monopolists.
The strategy of Salaouatchi and his crew consists in the production and marketing of aquaculture products through the Algerian Chamber of Fisheries and Aquaculture, from the establishment of closed ponds and fishing investments in inland and even coastal regions of the country, as well as the intensification of the Ministry’s external efforts to increase Algeria’s share of tuna, which would lead to an abundance of the product and lower prices.
And this approach has borne fruit, the Algerian citizen can now buy fish products at affordable prices, such as red tilapia fish at 550 per kilo, and royal Dorad less than 300 grams at 990 DZD, a drop of DZD 500 per kilogram, and dorad over 300 grams per kilogram at DZD 1090 per kilogram, a reduction of DZD 600 per kilogram.
The idea of breeding and marketing aquatic products has circulated in many wilayas, to currently cover 31 Algerian wilayas, such as Mila, Jijel, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Bejaia, Tizi Ouzou, Boumerdes, Algiers, Tipaza, Skikda , El Tarf, Annaba, Guelma, Chlef, Ain Defla, Medea, Tlemcen, Oran, Sidi Bel Abbes, Naama, Relizane, Ain Temouchent, Bechar, Mostaganem, Tiaret, Saida, Hassi Messaoud, Mascara, Ouargla and Tissemsilt.
For its part, Algerian citizens, especially those with limited incomes, appreciated this initiative of the Ministry of Fisheries and Fishery Products, which encouraged it to have strong attendance at the points of sale set up for this purpose.
