Ministry of Communication to Hold Training Workshop on the Role of Media in Protecting Children’s Rights

Algiers – September 2025 – The Ministry of Communication, in close coordination with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Algeria, will convene a specialized training workshop on Thursday, 25 September 2025, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Algiers. Scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m., the session will focus on the pivotal theme: “The Role of Media in Protecting Children’s Rights.”
The workshop will be conducted by an international expert, the UNICEF representative in Greece, whose expertise is expected to enrich discussions and provide valuable insight into global best practices for safeguarding children’s rights through responsible media engagement.
As part of this initiative, the Ministry has extended an official invitation to the national press, across all its platforms and mediums, encouraging active participation. Each media institution has been asked to designate two representatives and submit their details—full name, surname, and affiliation—via email to d.media@ministerecommunication.gov.dz by no later than 24 September 2025.
By spearheading such a workshop, the Ministry of Communication reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the capacity of Algerian media professionals in addressing sensitive issues related to child protection. It also reflects Algeria’s broader determination, in partnership with UNICEF, to cultivate a media landscape that prioritizes ethical standards, social responsibility, and the promotion of fundamental rights.
