“Miyahi Mob”: Algerian Water Utility Launches New Mobile App for E-Billing and Online Payments

The new version of the Algerian Water Company’s app enables customers to receive and pay bills electronically, enhancing digital access and customer service nationwide.

Algiers, Algeria | May 18th, 2025 —  In a move to digitize public utility services, the Algerian Water Company has officially launched the new version of its mobile application “Miyahi Mob”, allowing customers to receive and settle their water bills electronically, including overdue payments.

The announcement was made on Sunday, May 18, in Algiers, during the opening ceremony of the 20th International Water and Climate Transition Exhibition (SIEE-Pollutec 2025), held at the Palace of Expositions from May 18 to 20, under the patronage of the Ministry of Water Resources. The event was inaugurated by Minister of Water Resources, Taha Derbal, who praised efforts to modernize water services through digital innovation.

According to Salah Eddine Cherit, Central Director for Customer Relations and Communication at the Algerian Water Company, the upgraded app—developed in-house—aims to modernize customer databases and facilitate the electronic dispatch of bills via email and SMS.

The second version of Miyahi Mob, released following feedback from the initial 2023 version, introduces enhanced features including:

• Creation of personalized user accounts

• Access to previous bills

• Request for e-bill delivery via email

• Bill simulation tool

• Secure online payment

• Complaint submission

• Location of nearby customer service agencies

These additions mark a significant leap in Algeria’s public utility digitalization, aligning with the government’s broader vision for smart governance and climate-conscious infrastructure management.
