Authorities confirmed that the ban extended to the mere transfer of sacrificial animals to markets and public spaces, further asserting that livestock would be seized and fines imposed across all districts in the region.

This escalation follows the controversial royal announcement setting Saturday, June 7, 2025, as the date for Eid al-Adha in Morocco—a day later than the majority of Arab and Muslim nations, which will mark the occasion on Friday, June 6. The discrepancy, compounded by the regime’s outright ban on the sacrifice ritual, led many Moroccans to denounce what they perceive as a deliberate attempt to dismantle religious traditions under the pretext of drought-induced livestock shortages.
