Alawi monarchy caught red-handed in fresh espionage plot—this time targeting Mauritania with $32 million in Zionist-UAE-sponsored surveillance tools, escalating its covert war against regional sovereignty and resistance to normalization.

Algiers, Algeria | June 10th, 2025 — In yet another staggering revelation exposing the underhanded tactics of the Moroccan regime, prominent dissident and whistleblower Hicham Griñdou has uncovered a fresh espionage operation implicating the royal palace in Rabat. This time, the scandalous target is none other than the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, a country that has consistently refused to align with Morocco’s hostile regional agenda—particularly its efforts to isolate Algeria and erase the Polisario Front from the Maghreb political map.

According to a video released by Griñdou—an exiled activist based in Canada and a former insider with intimate knowledge of Morocco’s security apparatus—the spying operation was orchestrated from Moroccan-occupied territories in Western Sahara, notably Laayoune, Dakhla, and Boujdour. Sophisticated surveillance hardware, including high-resolution cameras and sensitive microphones, was clandestinely installed in critical areas of Nouakchott. The estimated cost of the surveillance package stands at a staggering $32 million, reportedly funded by the United Arab Emirates in what appears to be a sinister trilateral operation involving Morocco, the Zionist entity, and the UAE.

Griñdou, a high-profile opponent of the Moroccan monarchy who has faced relentless judicial harassment, including a recent 15-year prison sentence in absentia, revealed that the primary objective of this operation was to infiltrate Mauritanian political, business, and opposition circles. His goal, he claimed, was to expose how the Alawi regime uses espionage as a political weapon—particularly against states and actors that do not conform to Rabat’s aggressive and expansionist vision for the region.

In a bold challenge, Griñdou urged the Mauritanian authorities to enlist independent technical experts to verify his claims, declaring that he stakes his life on the truthfulness of his report. His credibility has grown in recent years as multiple revelations he made concerning corruption, blackmail, and abuse of power within the Moroccan royal court have been proven accurate—making him one of the most dangerous thorns in the side of King Mohammed VI’s entourage.

This latest spy scandal comes as Mauritania firmly rebuffed Morocco’s so-called “Atlantic Gateway” project—an ambitious but disingenuous scheme aimed at dragging Sahel nations into a geopolitical alliance centered around a port in the occupied territory of Dakhla. The real intention behind this project, experts say, was to marginalize Algeria and Mauritania from West African trade corridors, thus deepening Morocco’s isolationist paranoia masked by pretenses of integration.

Notably, Mauritania has also steadfastly upheld its recognition of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), refusing to cave to mounting pressures and economic coercion from Morocco and its pro-“Israel” allies in the Arab world. This principled stance has enraged the Moroccan regime, which has historically relied on digital surveillance, psychological warfare, and foreign-lobbied influence operations to sway neighboring states.

The scandal reopens the infamous Pegasus file, wherein Morocco, through Zionist software supplied by NSO Group, hacked the phones of dozens of high-level officials in Europe—including the Spanish and French presidents. Western investigations have confirmed that Rabat used sensitive intelligence to blackmail foreign leaders, effectively turning statecraft into an elaborate extortion racket designed to reframe their policies on Western Sahara in favor of the occupation.

Mauritania, however, has refused to budge—demonstrating both political maturity and sovereignty. This has only deepened Rabat’s frustration and intensified its covert war tactics, exposing the Moroccan regime’s chronic reliance on espionage, blackmail, and subversion to compensate for its growing regional irrelevance and diplomatic setbacks.

As calls grow louder across Africa and Europe to rein in Morocco’s rogue behavior, this latest exposé marks yet another chapter in the Alawi monarchy’s descent into international disgrace. The region—and indeed, the world—must now ask: how much longer will this monarchy be allowed to weaponize technology, manipulate alliances, and undermine the sovereignty of its neighbors with impunity?
