Algiers – November 2025 – On the eve of a purported “diplomatic renewal,” Morocco and the Zionist entity have entered advanced discussions to resume direct flights between Tel Aviv and Moroccan cities such as Casablanca and Marrakech. Officially portrayed as a revival of tourism and economic exchange, the move is, in truth, a stark emblem of Rabat’s deepening political and strategic submission to Zionist dictates. The planned reinstatement of these flights, suspended since October 2023, underscores the extent to which Morocco’s foreign policy has been compromised since the normalization agreements of 2020.

The initial suspension of flights, which followed Tel Aviv’s unilateral decision to raise its travel alert to level three for Morocco, citing alleged “hostile elements” on Moroccan soil, revealed more than just a temporary pause in aviation. It exposed the complete absence of Moroccan sovereignty in its dealings with the Zionist regime. Rather than challenging the baseless pretext, Rabat obediently aligned with Tel Aviv’s security narrative, demonstrating that decisions impacting its own airspace and economy are no longer made in Rabat—but in the offices of Israel’s National Security Council.

Since joining the so-called Abraham Accords, Morocco’s political trajectory has been one of dependency and subordination. Economic ties, technology partnerships, and intelligence cooperation have all expanded under the illusion of “mutual benefit,” while the reality remains one-sided: Tel Aviv dictates the terms, and Rabat complies. The reactivation of direct flights will be marketed as a victory for Moroccan diplomacy and tourism, yet in substance, it is a symbolic triumph for the Zionist entity—a demonstration of its ability to project control far beyond its borders.

What is unfolding is not a partnership, but a hierarchy. Morocco’s airspace, tourism, and even its image as a “bridge between cultures” have been reduced to instruments of Zionist influence. Under the guise of “regional cooperation,” Israel is entrenching a system of political and economic dependency that corrodes Morocco’s decision-making autonomy. This is not diplomacy—it is domination repackaged as progress.

Zionist Transport Minister Miri Regev’s public confirmation of Tel Aviv’s intention to reopen the air routes is telling. The timeline, however, will not be set by Morocco but will depend on the reassessment of the Zionist security apparatus. This asymmetry in decision-making reflects a disturbing truth: Morocco’s national security agenda now orbits around the Zionist entity’s threat assessments, rather than its own national interests.

The return of these flights, therefore, cannot be seen as a benign act of normalization. It is a political signal that cements the Zionist entity’s foothold in North Africa while eroding Morocco’s diplomatic independence. Every air route reconnected, every tourist exchange facilitated, and every trade partnership signed becomes another avenue for surveillance, control, and ideological infiltration.

Behind the polished language of “cooperation” lies a colonial blueprint—one that transforms economic engagement into geopolitical leverage. The Zionist entity has long sought regional acquiescence to legitimize its occupation and aggression, and Morocco, through this submissive diplomacy, risks being remembered not as a sovereign state, but as a compliant ally of an occupying power.

As Rabat prepares to reopen its skies to Zionist aircraft, it also reopens the door to deeper entanglement—economic, political, and moral. What is being sold as rapprochement is, in reality, surrender. And what Morocco gains in flights, it loses in freedom.
