ALGIERS โ February 20, 2026 โ Minister of National Solidarity, Family, and Womenโs Affairs Soraya Mouloudji carried out an unannounced inspection visit, on the eve of the first day of Ramadan, to the elderly care home in Sidi Moussa, as part of ongoing field monitoring to assess the situation of social care institutions.
According to a statement issued Thursday by the ministry, the visit falls within continuous on-the-ground follow-up aimed at evaluating the performance of social care facilities and translating the sectorโs determination to enhance the quality of care and services provided. During the inspection, the minister reviewed the functioning of the establishment and the extent of implementation of the program prepared for the holy month.
Within this framework, Mouloudji toured accommodation units, medical services, and all sections of the facility, where she assessed the level of periodic healthcare provision, psychosocial support, and the arrangements made for preparing and organizing both individual and collective iftar meals.
She also listened to detailed briefings from administrative, educational, and medical staff regarding the mechanisms adopted to implement the Ramadan program. At the conclusion of the visit, the minister issued a series of directives stressing โthe necessity of strengthening the human dimension in all activities during Ramadan by creating a warm, family-like atmosphere and intensifying recreational and animation programs,โ the same source added.
